www.nbe.gov.in -NEET–PG for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses 2013


The National Board of Examinations (NBE) was established in 1975 by Government of India with the an aim to improve the quality of the Medical Education by establishing high  and uniform standards of postgraduate exams in modern  medicine  on  All  India  Basis  and  utilizing  existing  healthcare infrastructure for capacity building.

NBE conducts entry and exit examinations at Postgraduate and Post Doctoral level and licensing examinations as Screening Test for Indian Nationals with Foreign Medical Qualifications. Ministry  of  Health  and  Family  Welfare,  Government  of  India  has  notified NBE for  conducting the National Eligibility-cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate courses (NEET-PG).

NEET-PG is the eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses in medical institutions recognized for running these courses under the ambit of PG Medical Regulations notified by Medical Council of India. 

NEET-PG examination for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses session 2013-14 would be conducted from 23 November 2012 to 06 December 2012, which is referred to as the testing window. Candidates can register and schedule for appearing in the NEET-PG examination online only through the website

1.    Sale of Information Bulletin-cum-Examination Fee Voucher at designated Axis Bank branches begins: 04 October 2012
2.    Last Date to obtain Information Bulletin-cum-Examination Fee Voucher from designated Axis Bank branches: 10 November 2012 
3.    Online Registration and Scheduling for NEET-PG begins: 04 October 2012
4.    Last Date for Online Registration and Scheduling for NEET-PG: 12 November 2012 (2359 hrs)  
5.    Examination Dates of NEET-PG : 23 November 2012– 06 November 2012
6.    Result Declaration (tentative): 31 January 2013

Eligibility Conditions for NEET-PG 2013: 
Candidates possessing a MBBS degree/Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate recognized as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council  Act  1956  along with a permanent/provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the MCI or State Medical Council and have completed one year of internship/likely to complete the  internship  on  or  before  31 March 2013, can apply  for NEET-PG 2013.
NOTE: Candidates who would complete/likely to complete their internship after 31/03/2013 need  not  apply.

Fees: 
Rs. 2750 (for SC/ST/PWD candidates) 
Rs.3750 (for General/OBC candidates)
The non-refundable fee has to be paid by purchasing a Composite Information Bulletin-cum-Examination Fee Voucher from selected Axis Bank branches. 
A unique serial number on the Information Bulletin-cum-Examination Fee Voucher is available underneath the scratch panel. This number should be entered on the NEET-PG website for online registration and scheduling process.

How to Apply: Online Registration process for the exam will begin from 04/10/2012. Last Date to register Online is 12 November 2012 (2359 hrs)  

During registration, candidate would be required to:
1. Create a profile.
2. Fill out the NEET-PG application.
3. Schedule test.
Estimated time to complete this process is 15 minutes.

To register for the NEET-PG 2013, go to www.nbe.gov.in/neetpg and click “Register for NEET-PG” link.  Fill in all the asked details in the application form and click preview. A confirmation screen will appear. Read the confirmation screen to make sure all information is correct. If something is not correct, click Edit, make the required corrections and submit the application.

On successful submission of online Application, a copy of the application will be emailed to the candidate within 24 hours to the specified email address.

Once the application has been successfully submitted, candidate can schedule an appointment to take the NEET-PG. 
Although, candidates have the option of choosing their examination centre, availability of the test centre (venue) on the date and time would be on first come first served basis and candidates will only be shown available sessions. Once the exam is scheduled, request for change of centre would not be entertained.

At the end of Registration and Scheduling process, an acknowledgement would be generated and sent at the registered e-mail ID of the applicant. Print out of this acknowledgment constitutes the Admit Card-cum-Confirmation Slip. Candidate is required to affix his/her latest passport size photograph on this acknowledgement and bring it to the Test centre along with an identification document. The name of the candidate in the identification document shall be the same as that in the Admit Card-cum-Confirmation Slip.

The NEET-PG may be taken during the window of 23 November 2012 – 06 December 2012. There will be two sessions each day – at 10 a.m. (forenoon) and at 3.15 p.m. (afternoon). Each candidate is required to appear in one session during this testing window on the particular date. 

Result: The results for NEET-PG 2013 shall be declared by 31 January 2013. The result will be displayed at NEET-PG website   

Post result declaration the mark sheet-cum-result certificate can be downloaded from the website-  http://www.nbe.gov.in
